Speech therapy is a term used to describe treatment delivered by Speech Pathologists that can help improve speech, language, literacy, mealtimes and social skills.
Speech therapy can be conducted in clinic, at school, at home or via telehealth. Your Speech Pathologist will conduct an initial assessment and develop a therapy plan. This will help shape and guide what speech therapy will look like for your child.
Through your child’s eyes we want speech therapy to look like:
- Playing fun and motivating games.
- Talking about preferred topics and sharing interests.
- A safe and motivating space to learn.
Through parents eyes we want speech therapy to look like:
- Support to feel empowered to advocate for your child and support their needs at home.
- Achieving functional and meaningful outcomes for your child’s communication and participation.
